I have a Victorian Furniture Slideshow as my screensaver on my computer. You could do it with any or all of the pictures stored on your computer - it doesn't have to be furniture (obviously). I'll explain how to do it if you're interested (and don't already know) - it's pretty easy.

To change your screensaver to a picture slideshow: Click the START button, then CONTROL PANEL , then double click DISPLAY, click SCREEN SAVER tab, below SCREEN SAVER - click on the V-DOWN ARROW and choose MY PICTURES SLIDESHOW then beside WAIT w/ the arrows, adjust the idle time you'd like before your screensaver comes on (I use 4 minutes). You can click OK and your screen saver will scroll through all of your pictures in your "My pictures" folder OR - you can click on SETTINGS, then under USE PICTURES IN THIS FOLDER click BROWSE and find and choose the folder you'd like as your screen saver. There are also slider adjustments for how often pictures change & how big the pictures are & other effects listed at the bottom you can check (I selected & like "Transition effects", and "Allow scrolling through pictures w/ the keyboard" (arrow buttons). When you're done making your selections click the OK button. It makes for a very cool and enjoyable screensaver. Try it I think you'll like it - you can always change back (same steps just choose another screensaver) if you don't like it.

I really enjoy it, sometimes I'll just sit there and watch it randomly bring up pictures of great furniture (mine is set to change every 6 seconds). I have almost 4,000 pictures on my computer. A little over 1,000 are of great furniture - primarily Victorian - in a folder I call "Antiques" - but sorted into 19 different sub folders under my "Antiques" folder labeled - Beds & BR sets, Chairs & Seating, Tables & Stands, etc. - another option could be to sort your files by maker Belter, Herter, Roux, etc. - photos labeled w/ a "K" for known - an "A" for attributed - or whatever works for you. (To create a subfolder within a folder - Select a folder- then click on "File" (Top Left) then select "New" then choose "Folder" and  new subfolder will appear flashing ready for you to name it). I store mine on an external hard drive so I don't fill up my PC's hard drive (pictures use up a lot of space) - but you can still put quite a few on your PC w/o problems. Most of my pictures are from the net (to save any picture to your computer: RIGHT click on any picture you find & like, then choose "Save Picture As" option - select the folder / location for "Save In" - click on v or arrow for options, name the picture if you choose (file name) I suggest saving all in JPEG form (rather than Bitmap)- takes up much less space. Then click "Save" - Done.

Great idea! I use this setting on my victorian houses folder, It always starts a conversation when friends are around. I only wish I could add a music file to it.
