A really neat History channel program on the origins of christmas was broadcast here last night which i found fascinating. Christmas as we know it today started when Queen Victoria & Prince Albert got married in 1840. Albert, being German, brought the tree tradition in germany to england. Before long, the english added the christmas card to the tree tradition and the americans added santa claus. Naturally, the Puritans resisted incorporating Christmas into religion which caused the children to fight the puritans on this issue and the KIDS WON! GOOOOOOOOO KIDS.
In any event, a very informative program, if it's on this week in your area, check it out, you wont be disappointed.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
