I recently acquired a dining set. I am trying to find out more about it. I am hoping someone here may be able to help. The chairs are stamped CR LTD inside a circle. Anything you can tell me is appreciated. Linda

The chairs are a Hepplewhite shield-back style (arm chairs & side chairs w/o arms) - I'm fairly certain the set is walnut (but possibly mahogany - I can't tell for certain from the pics). The table has brass feet, some "string inlay" on the legs and top and some other inlays on the legs and top w/ some simple carvings. Hepplewhite furniture was made in the late 18th century (1700's), but I believe yours are much newer made looking at the back splat of the chair and the condition. My best guess is - it looks like a good quality, well made set from the 1940's or 50's. Hard to tell for sure from pictures, but that's my best guess - they could possibly be even newer. I don't know about the makers stamp CR LTD - it could possibly even be an English co. If it's a newer quality set in good condition I would guess it's value to be +/- $1,000 - $1,500.  woodwright
