just wondering if anyone has a clue as to style, etc. of these pieces. We receive these for free, and hope to find people willing to reupholster. Every so often, we succeed.

It's kind of hard to tell, but I'm guessing your piece was made ca. 1900-1910, and I suppose you would call it late or post Victorian. I've seen some people call those chairs and settees with high arms "Empire," but I don't know if that's correct.
It looks as if the wood may be mahogany.
