One image is attached. Chip do you have more pictures of that Etagere? Would like to see more closeups and some of the feet.
I just received valid information that the etegere was made by the J. Stein Furniture Company in the mid 1880's. An exact picture of this etegere was featured in the 1894 catalogue of the American Furniture Manufacturers. I'm now struggling to find out information on J. Stein. As for the detailed pictures, I'll try to download them later today.
Being new to this Forumn, how do I download the pictures?
How do I upload photos to add to a post or reply?
When authoring your post, hit the "Additional Options" link in the lower left of the post window. Use the "Browse" button next to the "Attach" field to add a single photo. To add up to 8 attachments, click on the "(more attachments)" link next to the "Browse" button.
What is the maximum size for picture uploads?
There is a 500k limit to each image. If the pictures are larger than that, you can search Google for a free picture resize site such as this one: http://www.picresize.com/

Here are some detail pictures on the J. Stein Etegare. Let me know of other questions. Thanks!
so there is a label on it that says "J. Stein"?
No, there is no label. I contacted a man who was knowledgable about Merklen Brothers Furniture. He insured me it was J. Stein, due to the article that was in the 1894 American Woodworkers Catalogue. He e-mailed me the article with the exact picture of this piece and the information discussing this piece and that J. Stein made it. Sorry to say, there is no marking. However, the high bidder will receive the copy of the catalogue that I have received. Have you ever seen one?
aha, so you got a hold of Paul ;-)
Yes, and he was very helpful. I trust his knowledge about this item. Do you have any idea as to it value?
