Recently bought this sofa from a consignment shop, thinking its a P.S. for you all more knowledgeable that I, what ate your thoughts? Are the Egyptian revival sofas rare? Replacementvalue? Last of all after tightening the frame, does anyone have a manufacturers book showing the correct fabric that was used on this sofa? Opinions greatly appreciated.
Yep that is P&S. You'll likely find "P.S." under the heads if you take them off and look within them (on the heads themselves, not the underlying wood). Lucky find.
Yes, it looks like P & S. As said, if you take off one of the plaques you'll probably see the initials.
I would say a burgundy damask fabric would be more appropriate, but it looks good as is. Egyptian sofas are rare in my experience. It's hard to put a price on it witout seeing it hands-on, but I'd say around 3K for replacement.
