Can anyone help to identify the maker on this renaissance revival chair?

Is that chair extra wide or is it an optical delusion?
Sorry for the sideways pics - the chair is wider than a normal chair - and upon further investigation I found a similar, if not identical, form in the Dubrow book (1840-1880) on page 213 - examples in the book are attributed to Pottier & Stymus (picture is fuzzy)...

:D  As much as I have always liked the Dubrows, you need to be very cautious using their book for attributions.  For every documented or signed piece in it (they talked to lots of museums, including my own, and got pictures from them), there are pieces with the sort of vague attribution that has no real scholarly value any more.  Pottier & Stymus is a particularly dicey one to attribute--as is any furniture in the middle range (i.e. most furniture), because factories shamelessly copied each other's successful designs. Industry is like that.
